The City of Clearwater Home Purchase Assistance Program may help eligible homebuyers with their down payment and closing costs when purchasing an eligible home within Clearwater city limits.
City of Clearwater Home Purchase Assistance Program
For loans approved after July 1, 2025, eligible buyers may receive assistance of up to 25% of the purchase price, not to exceed $75,000, subject to program eligibility, funding availability, and current program requirements.
The assistance is provided as a loan. Under the current program structure, 50% is amortized over 20 years, while the remaining 50% is deferred and may be forgiven at loan maturity if the borrower remains in compliance with the program requirements.

If you are a mortgage lender working with a buyer who may qualify for Clearwater's Home Purchase Assistance Program, the buyer should first contact a lender to become prequalified for their first mortgage.
